One reason why children act like their parents is because they observed their parents through the years. Sometimes, some children say “I will never be like dad when I grow up”. When they grow up, they find themselves acting out what they did not like about dad.
This has made many think that it must be a family curse working against them. If you’re a Christian, then it’s not a family curse. Observe the scripture below;
“Then the LORD said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live.” Numbers 21:8 NKJV
The popular song “look and live” came from the scripture above. All God expected them to do was to look at the brazen serpent, and they will live.
Many of them thought, “why should I look at a brazen serpent, when there is a live serpent trying to kill me?”. As long as they refused God’s declaration (that seeing the serpent as lifeless will save their lives), they died in great numbers.
That serpent represents afflictions of life. Don’t let the afflictions of life take your eyes away from the Master! Don’t set your eyes on men, set your eyes on the Lord.
We can all learn from Peter. Once he took His eyes from Jesus and started considering the storm ⛈ , he began to sink.
If you want to change any situation, start by setting your eyes on God’s true picture of that situation, not the devil’s false picture of the same situation.
God’s pictures are in His Word 📖. Look, and live!
